The "Manoir de l'Isle"also called "le cottage des bacquets" built in 1856 on this unusual river island, first belonged to the family of Arthur Petit, an industrialist who owned a cotton factory.
His grand-daughter Claire married Edouard Andre, a world renowned landscape designer. Edouard and his son designed the beautiful and romantic park that surrounds the Hotel. Visitors will especially note the hundred-year-old trees which reinforced their design of natural impressionism.
During the WWII, the property was requisitioned by German forces and in 1945, the Andre family,now numbering 18, happily reclaimed their home.
It was in 1987 that the lovely Manoir was renovated and converted to a charming 4-star hotel, the Belle Isle sur Risle.
New oners enhanced the park over the years with many flowering plants and enlarged and improved the main building, for the comfort of their guests.
In 2010,the hotel was used in the filming of an episode of Guy de Maupassant's life "My Uncle Sosthene", starring the well-known French actor Jean Pierre Marielle.
Our team is available from 8.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m.

Alarm clock: You can program the alarm clock on your room telephone: compose the «18», then the numbers the time you want to be woken up (hh.mm). Wait the tone.

Safe: Our rooms are furnished with safe. For things of consequent value, a safe is available at the reception..

- Room cleaning:
Every day between 10a.m and 03p.m. In case of staying more than one night, if you desire that the linen be changed please just let it in the bathtub. For the sheets please put the paper intended to precise this on the bed.
A double faced form: room «to make» or «don’t bother» is furnished. Don’t hesitate to use it..
- Luggage service:
The structure of the hotel do not permit the installation of an elevator going up and down can get quite exhausting with heavy luggage. Our staff will take care of your demand...
Pets of all kinds are admitted under appropriate conditions of hygiene calm.. We can put at your disposal a dish for their meal.
-Extra products and linen:
You can obtain extra linen, bathrobes, slippers, shoe cream and toothbrush. Tanks to check the conditions at the end of this guide book.
This hotel have a private parking.
Nevertheless you can let your car and your keys to the receptionist who will be in charge to park it.
He will bring them to you in the room.

The hotel features a gourmet restaurant. Former from the Crillon, our Chef Armand Malandain, mixing flavors and seasonal traditional ingredients sometimes with a spicy touch , will proposes you a fine and elaborate cuisine .
The meals take place in two phases, we’ll take the order in the lounge first and then we will invite you to dinner once you’re table will be ready.
Opening hours of the restaurant (order entry):
- Lunch: from 12:00 to 14:00
- In the evening: from 19:30 to 21:30
The restaurant is closed at lunch on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
